The European Union, by enforcing new regulations known as the Digital Markets Act (DMA), has required Google to open access to rival artificial intelligence platforms on Android phones and share its search data with other companies. This decision was made after months of review by the European Commission and is binding for Google.
Until now, Google's Gemini AI platform had special privileges on Android phones, but with these new measures, competitors can also benefit from similar features and users will have more choices. Google has raised concerns about privacy and security, but as a major market player, it is obligated to comply with these regulations.
