Google, a leader in rapid release models for browser security, has now announced that with the advent of artificial intelligence in security analysis, the Chrome update process must change. According to the company, the number of bugs fixed in recent Chrome versions has increased dramatically due to the use of AI to identify security vulnerabilities.
In the two most recent Chrome versions (versions 149 and 150), a total of 1,072 security bugs were fixed, which exceeds the total of the previous 23 versions. This remarkable leap is the result of AI models that hunt for vulnerabilities at the speed of light. Accordingly, Google is testing a system that releases updates twice a week instead of every two weeks and modifies the installation process so that users do not need to close the browser and restart it.
