The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a new rule banning the entry of humanoid and quadruped robots manufactured in China and other foreign countries. This ban covers a wide range of robots, including even new smart vacuums manufactured abroad.
The Trump administration and the FCC implemented this decision, citing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in Chinese robots. On July 28, advanced foreign robots were added to the list of technologies that pose an unacceptable risk to national security or the safety of U.S. citizens. This list is updated only under the direction and coordination of U.S. national security officials, with the participation of relevant agencies, including the White House.
