The Twitch platform allows its users to opt out of Amazon using their channel content to train generative AI models. This change, which has recently been implemented in the platform's settings, comes more than two years after an executive confirmed that Amazon uses Twitch data to develop its AI.
According to a new update on Twitch's support page, if users do not want their streams, videos (VODs), clips, text chats, and channel images to be used in the training process of Amazon's future models, they must manually disable this option. Amazon's goal with this training is to develop models capable of generating or synthesizing text, audio, images, and video.
To opt out, users must visit the security settings section of their account on the Twitch website and toggle the corresponding option to protect their data privacy against AI models.
