Doug Kroozkamp, founder of Springshot, was shocked by reports that tech giant Google purchased massive operational data packages as part of Spirit Airlines' bankruptcy proceedings. Since 2011, Springshot has developed a proprietary platform that assists human and AI systems in enhancing airline efficiency and resolving logistical challenges to maintain on-time flight operations.
This platform provided the technological infrastructure for Spirit until its final flight, but Kroozkamp stated that his company received no notice about the auction of the extensive data set. He believes the data erroneously includes a significant portion of information and intellectual property belonging to Springshot rather than Spirit Airlines, raising serious concerns about intellectual property rights violations within the framework of the bankruptcy.
