Lancaster Country Day School (LCDS) in Pennsylvania, which had come under pressure after the disclosure that classmates created fake nude images of 59 female students using artificial intelligence, has now filed a court motion seeking to dismiss the parents' lawsuit.
The victims' families claim that the school management remained silent on the matter for months, which emboldened the male students to target a larger number of girls. However, in its defense, the school stated that the claim of failing to report to legal authorities is false, as the initial report was received by the school from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office (which is itself a law enforcement agency).
Furthermore, private school officials stated that they were unaware of the victims' identities in the initial stages, as the report they received did not include the names of any specific students. This case has become one of the serious legal challenges regarding the abuse of image-generation technologies in educational environments.
