The United States military, for the first time in its history, carried out an attack using unmanned explosive boats against an Iranian mini-submarine and a ship repair facility at the Bandar Abbas naval base. This unprecedented action occurred about a decade after similar use of this technology by Iranian and Yemeni forces.
Images released by the U.S. military's Central Command show that three smart explosive boats, after approaching their intended targets without obstruction, detonated. One of the targets of this operation was Iran's Ghadir-class submarine, which was out of the water and hung from a crane for repairs.
