Hyundai: The plan to use humanoid robots is unrelated to the workers' protests

Hyundai Motor Company announced that the plan to use humanoid robots by 2028 is not part of the ongoing negotiations with striking workers in South Korea. In response to reports that strikes by some employees at the world’s largest car manufacturing plant were due to concerns about these robots, Hyundai emphasized that the demands of the labor union are mainly related to wage increases, bonus payments, and extending the retirement age.

In the company’s official statement, it was stated: “The potential use of robots on production lines in South Korea is not among the topics under discussion in the current negotiations.” Hyundai also reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with the labor union and its efforts to reach an agreement that safeguards the long-term interests of both employees and the company.
