According to a Reuters report, DeepSeek, a company active in advanced language models in China that competes with rivals such as OpenAI and Anthropic in the United States, has decided to enter the AI chip manufacturing sector. This decision comes in response to US export controls, and DeepSeek has been working on this project for about a year.
During this period, the startup has held meetings with companies active in hardware and silicon and has sought to attract engineers for its new project. DeepSeek's goal is to develop indigenous AI chips to reduce dependence on foreign technologies and increase its competitive capability in the global market.
