OpenAI has restricted ChatGPT’s capabilities so that it can no longer directly generate texts in the style and voice of famous authors. This AI model can now only adopt general characteristics of these authors’ works in its writing, but avoids precise or close imitation of their style.
According to Ars Technica, in recent tests, ChatGPT has responded similarly for living authors like J.K. Rowling and Amy Tan, conveying only the mood of their works. Research from No Latency also shows that this restriction is less strictly enforced for deceased authors like Ernest Hemingway or Charles Dickens, and ChatGPT can still imitate their style.
