ByteDance, the owner of the TikTok platform, has begun the process of training a massive AI model whose scale is said to rival the most advanced systems of the company Anthropic. This move reflects a serious effort by Chinese tech giants to close the gap with top-tier US laboratories.
According to sources familiar with the matter, this new model is in the early stages of training, and its parameters could reach 10 trillion. This figure is three times larger than Moonshot's Kimi K3 model, which is currently considered China's largest AI model.
The pre-training phase of this model is likely to take between three and six months, and if successful, it will be fine-tuned before its final release. With this ambitious project, ByteDance aims to consolidate its position as one of the leaders in the world of artificial intelligence.
