Apple has unveiled its latest desktop computers, specifically designed for local AI development. The Mac mini and Mac Studio are two distinct products in Apple's lineup, but they have recently gained popularity for local AI inference and software development due to the advantages of unified memory architecture and fast CPU and GPU processors in system-on-chip designs.
Today, Apple announced new versions of both products, alongside two new chips: the M6, the first 2-nanometer chip in Apple's M-series for Macs, and the M5 Ultra, the most powerful chip in the lineup for most tasks, particularly AI workloads.
